Cebuana singer, husband locked out of school, file case

THE husband of Cebuana singer Anna Marie Fegi filed a complaint for grave coercion against a couple who purportedly barred them from entering a music school which both parties co-owned.

Adam Michael Brown and his lawyer went to the Cebu City Prosecutors’ Office yesterday morning to file charges against spouses Erwin and Sofia Quisido of The School of Rock located along Gen. Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City.

In his complaint, Brown said he and his wife were surprised when the respondents suddenly cut them off from the school.

In a press statement, the Quisido couple said they severed ties with the Browns after five months of differences.

The defendants said the Browns began questioning some of the provisions of the agreement several months after they signed it.

Effective last June 15, the Quisido couple notified the Browns of their decision to withdraw from their agreement and refund their investments.

They denied that they were not transparent with the school’s financial position.

“All our school receipts, expenses and other accounting records were readily available inside our school premises and can be checked by any of us at anytime we want,” the defendants said.

Brown and Fegi said they were never furnished a copy of the agreement nor informed of its terms.

The Browns, who invested P800,000 of their savings for the school, thought the Quisidos already invested P1.2 million in the partnership.

The music school drew an increase of enrollees through Fegi’s endorsement. But the Browns were allegedly told by the Quisidos couple that the school was losing.

Brown said he requested a complete audit of the school last July 1. But on the scheduled day of the audit, he was prohibited from entering the school premises.

Brown added he was told that he was no longer a co-owner of the business. Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
