CEBUANO motocross daredevil Jon Eleazar Adlawan lived up to his lofty billing by winning the Pro Open lite category in the seventh leg of the Kopiko 3-in-1 Astig Supercross Series held last weekend at the muddy Upper Carmen race course in Cagayan de Oro City.
Adlawan, who dominated last month’s sixth leg in Tacloban City, Leyte edged veteran Glenn Aguilar to lord the 250cc division while Burnok Mangosong finished third.
Mangosong however, captured the event’s toughest division – the Pro Open 450cc class, nipping Donark Yuzon and Adlawan.
Meanwhile Team Kopiko bucked the absence of star rider, Giovanni Abellar who was nursing a serious injury, to rule the team event, edging Denan Team. Kopiko anchored its win on Adlawan, Jubenille Abellar, Resty Dela Calzada and Agdo Disipolo.
Jacob Orbe remained the king in the Novice division after beating Glenn Lapuz and Christopher Jules Bandigan. He also finished third in the Intermediate division behind winner Ambo Yapparcon and Ted Conde.
Mclean Aguilar finally topped the Beginners open after finishing second in the previous leg. He nipped Lapuz and Abu Mata for the title. Aguilar also ruled the Mini class.
In the Underbone division, Jungle Cabuco emerged fastest followed by Kerob Casinabe and Jay Bryan Sausa while Michael Rivera, Athoy Belican and Jordan Herrera topped Veterans A,B and C, respectively.
Lapuz regained his winning form in the Open enduro while Christian Morente topped the Local enduro. Janelle Saulog won the Women’s title by edging third leg champion Pia Gabriel and RK Cuesta.
Peewee 50cc and 65cc first placers were Jaypee Glenn Gaid and Bj Pepito respectively.
More than a hundred riders competed in the sixth leg of the series organized by Man and Machine Racing Promotions and Kopiko 3-in-1 Instant Coffee. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
