Stags look to continue winnning ways in NCAA

AFTER ENGAGING in a classic battle last Friday, the San Sebastian Stags and the San Beda Red Lions will try to improve on their standings today when they face off against separate opponents in the 87th NCAA basketball tournament at the Arena in San Juan City.

The Stags achieved the improbable against the reigning champions, Red Lions, last Friday as they defeated San Beda in thrilling fashion, 70-68, which put them at the top of the heap with a 9-0 (win-loss) record.

The win also put a stop to San Beda’s incredible 26-game winning streak and dropped them to second place at 8-1.

Today, San Sebastian will be taking on the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals while the Red Lions battle the struggling Perpetual Help Altas. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
