Thunderstorm alert up in Metro Manila, nearby areas

MANILA, Philippines — Residents of Metro Manila and nearby provinces were alerted against heavy rains and flashfloods Wednesday morning,

“A thunderstorm is affecting MetroManila, Bulacan and Zambales, portions of Rizal, Bataan, Pampanga, Laguna, Cavite and Tarlac within two hours,” the Philippine Amospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in a thunderstorm advisory released at 11:10 a.m.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods,” Pagasa.

In its morning weather bulletin, Pagasa said Metro Manila would have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
