Man hangs self in Makati
MANILA, Philippines — Beset with marital troubles, a 26-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Barangay (village) La Paz, Makati City, police said.
Mark Anthony Lumagbas was seen hanged from a wire inside the bathroom of a relative’s house past 5 p.m. Monday, Senior Police Officer 1 Alfred Reyes of the Makati Police District said.
Lumagbas was last seen alive around 4 p.m. when he came home after making the rounds as a tricycle driver, Reyes said, adding that the victim informed his relatives that he was going to take a bath.
Reyes said initial investigation didn’t indicate foul play.
A relative of the victim who declined to be named said Lumagbas had been restless during the past days due to a dispute with his wife over the latter’s online “chatmate.” She said the couple had already split.
