Salon workers robbed, raped in Quezon City

The owner of a beauty salon and her employee were raped by two men who barged inside the establishment just as it was about to close shop for the day.

According to a police report, the robbery and sexual assaults took place on Saturday evening in Tandang Sora, Quezon City.

Superintendent Carlito Feliciano, commander of the Quezon City Police District Station 3, said that his men have launched a manhunt for the robbers-rapists based on the descriptions provided by witnesses.

Witnesses said they were able to get a good look at the two men’s faces because they were not wearing any masks or disguises.

The victims told the police that they were about to shut down the beauty salon at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday when two men barged inside and announced a holdup.

The robbers then divested the victims—the owner of the establishment and her two employees—of their belongings.

Their loot included a gold cross pendant, a silver ring, a silver necklace, a digital camera worth P15,000 and five cell phones.

In addition, they took the salon’s earnings for the day, which amounted to P3,200.

After ransacking the salon, the two men raped two of the three women before fleeing on a motorcycle. They did not harm the other employee, the police said.

Witnesses said they were not able to jot down the vehicle’s plate number.

Feliciano did not identify the victims based on the sensitive nature of the crime. He said that only one of the robbers-rapists was armed with a gun.
