1,300 participants vie in MAPFRE Run today
AROUND 1,300 runners will answer today’s starting gun for the 2nd MAPFRE “Let’s Run for Road Safety” at the Cebu Business Park.
The run aims to strengthen MAPFRE’s campaign to encourage individuals and groups, including the youth, to contribute to raising awareness about the importance of road safety.
This year’s run is also the culminating activity of the Road Safety Pledge Campaign, which was launched during the First Road Safety Run last July 1, 2012.
Cash prizes will be given out to the top three winners in the 3k, 6k and 12k categories. The first 200 finishers in the 12k will also be given medals. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
