A low pressure area embedded along the intertropical convergence zone was observed 140 kilometers east of Davao City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The LPA, which may become a cyclone, will be called “Jolina” should it intensify.
“These weather systems are expected to bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms over Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Residents are advised to take all the necessary precautionary measures,” Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
