Motorist shot to death

A 30-year-old man driving a motorcycle was shot dead when he stopped for traffic in barangay Duljo-Fatima, Cebu City yesterday morning.

Christopher Sarmiento, a resident of barangay Ermita, Cebu City, died on the spot due to gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

The victim was identified through a driver’s license recovered from his possession along with a 9mm pistol, said SPO4 Alex Dacua, homicide investigator of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Police said that when the victim stopped at an intersection in R. Padilla Street, a man aboard a motorcycle stopped beside him and fired shots.

When the victim slumped on the ground, the assailant alighted from the motorcycle and finished off the victim by shooting him thrice in the head before driving off.

Police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
