MAN WAYLAID IN TALISAY

A 35-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead while he was driving home in barangay Lawaan III, Talisay City, southern Cebu yesterday dawn.

Police are still investigating the motive in the killing of Rey Mamalias Gallas.

Police said Gallas was driving a motorcycle with his wife when the backrider of another motorcycle shot him in the head.

MAN ROBBED WHILE ON A ‘DATE’

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man reported to the police that he was robbed at knife-point by an unidentified man in barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City yesterday dawn.

Jacints Suico, a native of Bantayan Island, Cebu, said he was buying bread in a bakeshop in sitio Kasagingan when the man arrived.

Suico added that the man invited him for a date. The victim obliged. They then went to a dark area in the place.

The victim said he was shocked when the man pointed a knife at him and declared a hold-up.

Due to fear, the victim said he was forced to hand over to the man his wristwatch worth P5,000 and his wallet containing P50 cash.

The robber fled after the incident while the victim went to the police station to report the robbery.

Police conducted a follow-up operation but failed to locate the culprit.
