Man killed in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines—In a heartbeat, “Tibok” was dead, gunned down from behind by two men on a motorcycle and clad in black jackets and helmets, police said.
A 38-year-old jobless man was shot dead early Friday in Pasig City.
Chief Inspector Oscar Boyles, head of the Pasig police investigation unit, identified the victim as Gilbert Evangelista alias “Tibok,” 38 years old and jobless
He said the victim was standing on C. Raymundo Avenue in Barangay Maybunga around 1:20 a.m. when the assailants arrived and shot him from behind. The man sustained several bullet wounds in the head and shoulder and was dead on arrival at the Pasig City General Hospital.
The authorities were reviewing footage from a closed-circuit television camera in the area, Boyles said.
The motive for the attack has not been determined.
