A STAFF member of former Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia  promised to return close to two a dozen firearms and other valuables worth P1.24 million to  the Capitol.
Edwin Mixdon, one of Garcia’s former executive assistants, called Provincial general services office (PGSO) chief Eva Encabo yesterday and said he would  return the items this week or next week.
“He called me from Ozamiz province and promised to return the items. He said he just got very busy to  follow up on its return,” Encabo said.
Mixdon has yet to return 21 .45 caliber pistols, 24 radio units, six radio transceivers and a motorcycle.
They were used by Garcia’s security personnel under the Capitol’s Civil Security Unit.
The PGSO found out about the missing items in its inventory of the province’s properties during the transition  for the assumption of Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III. Correspondent Peter L. Romanillos
