MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were injured when the closed van they were riding slammed onto a wall of the Metro Railway Transit-Magallanes station before it fell on its side at the southbound lane along EDSA in Makati early Wednesday, a city traffic investigator said.
Senior Police Officer 1 Malou Imtaya of Makati traffic division identified the wounded as Elbert Tingal and Dennis Bozar who were onboard a Mitsubishi Camper closed van (TSU 703) driven by Jose Navarro. The two sustained minor injuries while Navarro was unhurt.
She said the 4×4 vehicle loaded with construction materials was plying the southbound lane of EDSA around 7 a.m. when Navarro allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
“The van suddenly swerved and then fell on its side,” Imtaya said, suspecting that the vehicle may have also been overloaded.
The vehicle was moved off the road some 30 minutes after.
