Filipino International Masters Oliver Barbosa and Oliver Dimakiling kept their unbeaten run in the third round of the 8th Dato’ Arthur Tan Malaysia Open Chess by posting crushing wins yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Barbosa beat Woman Grandmaster (WGM) Zhang Xiaowen of China while Dimakiling defeated GM Dao Thien Hai of Vietnam to score 3.0 points the same output of GMs Li Shilong and Wang Rui, IM Lu Shanglei and Wang Jue of China.

GM Darwin Laylo toppled FM Bobby Cheng of Australia to raise his tally to 2.5 points and climb into a share of 7th to 15th spots alongside countryman IM Rolando Nolte, GM Cao Sang of Vietnam, IM James Morris of Australia, Wan Yunguo, Yu Ruiyuan and Bai Jinshi of China, IM Sadikin Irwanto of Indonesia and Vakhidov Janhongir of Uzbekistan.
