Imelda Marcos rushed to hospital after falling down stairs

MANILA, Philippines—Ilocos Norte Representative Imelda Marcos was rushed to the hospital after falling down the stairs at the House of Representatives building on Monday.

Rica dela Cuesta, executive director of the House public relations and information bureau, said that the former first lady was brought to the Philippine Heart Center after she slipped down the stairs at the North Wing of the building.

The accident occurred a few minutes after the session was adjourned and hours before a joint session of Congress begins where President Benigno Aquino will deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address.

She said that Marcos was accompanied to the hospital by Dr. Richard Dizon, head of the House health medical service.
