Police eye ‘love triangle’ in Dysam shooting
MANILA, Philippines – Police are ruling out robbery as a motive behind Saturday’s shooting of a basketball player from Colegio de San Juan de Letran and his wife and are looking at a possible “love triangle”.
“It wasn’t robbery. The attack on him was intentional and deliberate,” Senior Superintendent Bernardo Tambaoan told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.
“[it could be] love triangle,” he said but added that all other possible angles were also being looked into.
Franz Dysam, who plays a guard for the Letran Knights, and Joan, whom school authorities identified as Dysam’s wife, were shot by suspects “riding in tandem” at 7:45 p.m. following a game at the San Juan Arena against Lyceum, which they won.
Dysam survived but Joan was declared dead on arrival at the San Juan Medical Center where they were rushed.
