QCPD director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano also warned that vehicles illegally parked along Commonwealth Avenue, which will be partially closed to traffic, will be towed away.
“Please bear with us. Everyone has the right to know the state of our nation, and the state of inconvenience that we will suffer is just a bit of it,” the official said in a statement.
The traffic rerouting scheme will be implemented from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.
Only the two leftmost lanes on Commonwealth Avenue’s northbound section will be open to traffic as concrete barriers will be placed in front of St. Peter Parish and Convergys.
U-turn slots will be set up in front of the Jockfer Building and Omni Tire Supply.
Northbound traffic will be rerouted with a counterflow on the southbound section starting from the Jockfer Building u-turn.
After the San Simon u-turn, the northbound section will be open to traffic.
Motorists from Tivoli Royale and other subdivisions behind the Ever Gotesco mall shall use the Jockfer u-turn.
U-turn slots in front of the Superstar KTV and Meralco Capitol will be closed.
Vehicles coming from the Capitol Estate 1 subdivision can take the u-turn slot at the St. Peter Church.
The QCPD said the IBP Road will be open to one way traffic only beginning Monday noon.
Vehicles from Filinvest 1, Sinagtala, San Mateo Road, Filinvest 2 subdivisions may exit through the Litex Road-Commonwealth Avenue area.
Motorists may use alternate routes by taking Congressional Avenue, turn left to Mindanao Avenue, right to Sauyo Road, left at Chestnut, right to Dahlia, and left to Regalado Avenue to reach Fairview Center Mall.
Vehicles from Fairview can use the same route in the opposite direction in going to the Quezon Memorial Circle.
The QCPD added that beginning 12:01 a.m. Monday, the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue from Quezon Memorial Circle to Fairview Center Mall will be cleared of obstructions.
Albano assured the public that the rerouting was thoroughly studied and planned to lessen public inconvenience.
