MANILA, Philippines—Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening Monday, when President Benigno Aquino delivers his fourth State of the Nation’s Address, the state weather bureau said.
The monsoon trough will bring cloudy skies and light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorm over the western section of Luzon on Friday. In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, these areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms until Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
By Sunday however, the monsoon trough is expected to weaken, resulting to gradual improvement of the weather condition over the western section of Luzon.
Aquino will deliver his annual speech before a joint session of Congress at the Batasan Complex in Quezon City on Monday afternoon.
As in other SONA, protests by militant groups are expected along Commonwealth Avenue, near the Batasan Complex.
A rerouting scheme has also been prepared in a bid to avoid a possible traffic buildup in the said area.
