COTABATO CITY—Unidentified men shot dead on Thursday a transport group leader here on his way home after driving some relatives to school, police said.

Senior Superintendent Rolen Balquin, Cotabato City police director, said Alimudin Lucman, 47, president of the Notre Dame Village Drivers and Operators Association, died when one of two men on a motorbike fired on him as he was driving his multicab vehicle around 7 a.m.

Lucman’s nephew, Mamudin Ayunan Aluy, 29, who was with the victim, was wounded in the shooting, Balquin said.

“Lucman suffered from six gunshot wounds in the head from a cal.-45 pistol, while Aluy, who was sitting in the front seat, sustained injuries in the body and is now recuperating at a hospital here,” Balquin said.

Badrudin Ali, president of the party-list group 1-Utak in Central Mindanao, condemned the attack on Lucman, whom he described as a good transport leader.
