Bathan said Delos Reyes approved the allocation of 50 job orders for city councilors belonging to the Alayon Party and the representatives of the Association of Barangay Council and Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.

The budget for the job orders will be taken from the P250 million allocation for the city government’s maintenance, operations and other expenses (MOOE).

According to Vince Monterde, city information officer, the Delos Reyes administration will save a substantial amount from the MOOE as they have discontinued outsourcing the janitorial services of City Hall.

The job order personnel will be assigned as street cleaners, garbage collectors, market and slaughterhouse personnel, City-Traffic Operations Development Authority (CT-TODA), office utility personnel and City Hall cleaners.

Their contracts will range from 15 days, one month and three months, renewable depending on their performance.

Job order workers are paid on a daily basis. They do not enjoy benefits like Pag-ibig, Philhealth and GSIS given to regular employees
