Petron Run fires off this Sunday

IT’S ALL systems go for this Sunday’s “Petron Run” at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.

Around 800 runners have already signed up to join the race, whose proceeds will go to the Sagip Alalay and Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazzards).

Sagip Alalay is the relief assistance program of Petron which aims to help victims of natural calamities. Project NOAH is a flood and hazard monitoring and mitigation project that will provide Filipinos with real-time weather information and updated maps.

According to organizer Veronica Tan, they are very excited about the staging of the fun run this Sunday. She said Petron’s “Lakbay Alalay” not only focuses on motorists but also on the entire commmunity. “It’s all about Petron Corporation being ‘kasama mo sa biyahe’ whatever aspect in your life may be,” said Tan.

Distances offered in the race are 3 kilometers, 5k and 10k. Winners in the 10k division will take home P10,000 while winning runners in the 5k race get P7,000 each. The top placers in the 3k race will go home with P5,000. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
