Internet gaming shop robbed of P100,000 in earnings

MANILA, Philippines—Over P100,000 cash and other items were lost when thieves, who pretended as players, robbed an internet shop in Pasig City before dawn Thursday, police said.

Police Inspector Ernesto Mones, Pasig City-Traffic chief who was the duty officer at the time of the alleged robbery, said the incident happened at E-Games located at the Reliance Building, in Barangay (village) Ugong, Pasig City around 5:30 a.m.

He said two still unidentified armed men pretended as customers and subsequently announced the heist and at gunpoint divested the days collection amounting to P131,000.

When security guard Rodante Orbiso heard the commotion, he went inside to check, but was disarmed of his 12-guage shotgun.

Aside from cash, the suspects also took three units of cellphones from the employees.

The suspects then fled onboard a passenger taxi.

Recovered from the crime scene were four live bullets.
