THE POWERHOUSE DGL Motorsports team of David G. Lim looks to continue its dominance in the autocross scene when the 2nd Cebu Leg of the Castrol Edge Regional Autocross Championship Series revs off today at the parking lot of the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad, Cebu City.
The multi-titled team has had a remarkable performance this year so far, ruling the first two legs of the Visayas series. The first leg was held in Cebu while the second was hosted the city of Bacolod.
Leading the team’s haul is 2009-2010 Philippine Autocross Championship Series Regional Driver of the Year, Cebu Driver of the Year and Kartzone Series Driver of the Year David G. Lim, who currently holds the top spot in the race for the 2011 Driver of the Year tied with teammate and chief tuner Mato Tan with 16 points each. DGL’s son David Lim Jr. holds third place with 13.
Tan is fresh off an impressive performance in the Bacolod leg while Lim Jr. topped the first Cebu leg. DGL logged two second-place finishes in the Cebu and Bacolod legs.
DGL , supported by Federal Tyres, HKS Super Oil, Cebu MMF Glass and Aluminum, The Coriander and Rico’s Lechon, is expected to show off its newest race car, a Honda del Sol, in this weekend’s race. Its other race machines include a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V and Honda CR-X. Correspondent Dale G. Rosal
