A 25-year-old nursing graduate who was allegedly involved in selling Ecstasy and cocaine was arrested in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.
Police said Ken Kenneth Rosales was arrested in a buy-bust operation outside his house on Tres Borces Street Tuesday night.
In a report by TV Patrol-Central Visayas, Rosales’ family denied that a buy-bust occurred. The relatives also denied that the man was engaged in selling illegal drugs.
Chief Insp. Romeo Santander, chief of the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), said Rosales was arrested shortly after he sold a capsule believed to be Ecstasy to a CIB operative who posed as a buyer.
When Rosales was frisked, 13 capsules of suspected Ecstasy and 12 packs of suspected cocaine worth P42,000 were recovered from his possession along with P21,000 cash.
Santander said the CIB and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have been monitoring Rosales due to his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Most of Rosales’ customers were well-off teenagers, police said.
Santander said Rosales admitted his involvement in the drug trade during tactical interrogation.
Reporters tried to interview Rosales but he seemed distraught.
“Kanang akong ibaligya nga tambal, powerful kayo na, maka pundok na og clouds sa amoa (The things I sold are powerful. It can gather clouds in our place)”, said Rosales./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
