Osmeña Sr. run set
The annual tribute to Cebu’s Grand Old Man, Don Sergio Osmeña Sr., continues this Sept. 9 with the holding of the DSOS Run starting in Lapu-Lapu Street near the Cebu City Hall.
Considered as one of the longest-running road races in Cebu City, the Cebu City Sports Commission, headed by chairman Edward Hayco, has prepared around P200,000 for the winners of the running event, which features 15- and 7.5-kilometer distances.
The race also commemorates the 133rd birth anniversary of Osmeña.
“We are planning to make this running event to be a runner-friendly race because this is very special for us,” said Hayco during the official launching yesterday at the Port Seafood Restaurant at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
Joining Hayco were CCSC executive director Eldibrando Velasquez, CCSC commissioner Ryan Aznar, International Pharmaceutical Inc (IPI) assistant manager for advertising and promotions Dean Ceniza and Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Ricardo Garcia.
Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) athletic coach Prescillano Capangpangan and his team will handle the technical side of the running event.
