3 men from Cotabato nabbed for theft

THREE men from Cotabato City were arrested shortly after they allegedly picked the pockets of jeepney passengers in barangay Zapatera, Cebu City, yesterday morning.

Jerson Manlangit, 28; Jojo Rudis, 37; and Edgar Rabase, 45, were arrested at a road block.

Police said the three men were on board a jeepney when passenger Maribel Balansag noticed that her cell phone and her wallet were missing.

The three men hurriedly got off from the jeepney when the passenger shouted for help.

Operatives of the Mobile Patrol Group of the Cebu City police, upon receiving a theft alarm, conducted a road block in Zapatera and intercepted the three on board a jeepney.

The three men were brought to the police station where Balansag’s belongings were recovered from them, said police. CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
