9-year-old boy with heart ailment needs surgery

Nine-year-old Christian Arediano has a congenital heart ailment but it has not stopped him from going on with his studies. The Grade 4 student has a hole in the middle of his heart that leads to his lungs.

His mother, Maria Cristina Raagas, who is raising him on her own, said that she wanted to ask for help from Inquirer readers as doctors at Philippine Heart Center have told her that her son should be operated on as soon as possible for him to have a normal life.

For this, she would need to raise around P400,000. A charitable institution has already promised to shoulder half of the cost so all she needs to raise now is P200,000, apart from the expenses her son may incur during his stay at the intensive care unit for 10 more days following the operation.

Raagas can be reached at 0908-7729647. For donations, you may deposit the money in her BPI account (account number 3229089012).
