TWO high school students were wounded in separate stabbing incidents in Cebu City Saturday night.
Raymund Piamonte Bolabola, a 20-year-old fourth year student of Mabolo National High School, was stabbed in the chest and abdomen by his uncle whom he confronted for allegedly threatening his classmates.
Police said Bolabola and his classmates were drinking in barangay Ermita when his drunk uncle, Elvis Miscala Bolabola, arrived.
Police said Raymund heard his uncle threatening to beat up his classmates.
Raymund approached his uncle to settle things but Elvis drew a knife and stabbed him.
A wounded Raymund picked up a metal pipe and hit his uncle in the head, police said.
Elvis ran home while Raymund was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.
Police arrested Elvis in a follow-up operation in barangay Lorega.
In barangay Bacayan, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the chest by a 21-year-old man.
Police arrested the suspect identified as Joel Siacor Codiñera.
Police said the boy was watching a billiards game when Codiñera called him.
The boy approached Codiñera, who suddenly attacked the boy with a screw driver.
People who saw the incident intervened and brought the boy to the hospital.
Police said a personal grudge was the motive in the attack.
Codiñera was allegedly punched by the boy’s brother during an argument a few days ago. /CORRESPONDENT MICHELLE JOY L. PADAYHAG
