Cerbo assures transparency

CHIEF Supt. Generoso Cerbo assured that he will be transparent in dealing with the media while he is the acting chief of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7).

Cerbo, who replaced Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo Jr., said he is used to dealing with the media as former spokesman of the Philippine National Police.

Cerbo, a member of the 1984 batch of the Philippine Military Academy, said there will be no reshuffling of key positions while he is the acting PRO-7 chief.

He said he will continue the programs that Garbo implemented.

Garbo said in Friday’s turnover ceremony that he plans to bring Senior Supt. Patrocinio Comendador Jr. with him to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Garbo is the new police director of NCRPO.

Garbo said he was impressed with the programs that Comendador implemented as provincial police chief.

Comendador introduced the Night Patrol Watch where a policeman is tasked to patrol at night at least once a week. Comendador is on his way out as CPPO chief after a two-year tour of duty.  /CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
