Tams eye fourth straight victory

Games today:

Mall of Asia

2 p.m. – UST vs. UE

4 p.m. – La Salle vs. FEU

THE FAR Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws aim to keep their slate clean today as they battle the La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

In the curtain-raiser, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers and the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors look to return to the win column after suffering stinging losses in their previous matches.

For the second year in a row, FEU will be gunning for a 4-0 (win-loss) start to their season. The Tamaraws have won their first three outings, the last being a 75-57 rout of the winless University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.

However, FEU expects to encounter some tough resistance from the Green Archers, whose morale is high after their 82-73 conquest of their bitter rivals, Ateneo, last Sunday.

La Salle, UST, Adamson and the National University Bulldogs currently share second place with identical records of 2-1.

Meanwhile, both UST and UE are expected to miss key players in today’s match.

The Tigers will miss star wingman Jeric Teng, who injured his shoulder in their 67-71 loss to NU last Wednesday.

UE, on the other hand, will be without import Charles Mammie after he was suspended for his role in the endgame fracas that occurred in a 71-78 loss to Adamson. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
