In barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, Michael Matidios, 45, a resident of barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu, and Joggary Juezan, 30, of barangay Sta. Rosa Olango Island, were arrested by police who were responding to a shooting alarm.

Police said operatives of the Special Weapons and Tacticts (SWAT) team on board two mobile patrols were heading toward barangay Mactan when they chanced upon two men riding a motorcycle without a plate number.

The backrider of the motorcycle had no helmet on.

The SWAT operatives flagged down the motorcycle.

Police said Juezan, who was driving the motorcycle, failed to present a driver’s license and the motorcycle’s registration.

When frisked, Matidios was found to have 95 packs of suspected shabu, an improvised glass tooter, four bullets for a .38 revolver and P4,308.50 cash in his possession.

Police said drug paraphernalia was recovered from Juezan.

The two men denied that they were involved in selling drugs but they admitted to being drug-users, said police. /CORRESPONDENTS JOY CHERRY S. QUITO AND NORMAN V. MENDOZA
