UNDEFEATED Albert “Prince” Pagara signed a multi-year promotional contract earlier this week with the ALA Boxing Promotions before his clash against Thai Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth this Saturday.
Pagara, the younger brother of reigning WBO International Junior Welterweight champion Jason Pagara from Maasin City, inked the multi-year contract with ALA Promotions Vice President Dennis Canete.
Pagara and 32-year old Wisaruth (9-4-1,5KOs) will tangle in the under card of ‘Pinoy Pride XXI: When Worlds Collide’ at the Solaire Resort and Casino in Manila.
ALA Boxing Promotions made sure that one of the fastest rising prospects in the country will still be fighting under its banner as it gives Pagara the chance to etch his name alongside his more priominent stablemates Donnie “Ahas” Nietes and Merlito “Tiger” Sabillo who are both world champions fighting under the ALA Boxing Gym.
Before turning pro in 2011 at the age of 17, Pagara boasts of an outstanding amateur record which included 10 gold medals in various tournaments. He was also undefeated in over 400 amateur fights.
Now at only 19 years old, Pagara has a perfect professional record of 16-0 with 11 knockouts including his second round stoppage of the then-undefeated Tawanrung Eausampan of Thailand. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL WITH PR
