QC to hold bloodletting campaign for dengue patients
MANILA, Philippines–The Quezon City government will conduct a bloodletting activity amid the high number of dengue cases in the city, a local health official said Friday.
Dr. Antonieta Enumerable, head of the Quezon City Health Department, in a report over 990AM, urged the public to join the campaign in front of the Quezon City Hall on Monday.
While there is still enough blood supply in Quezon City public hospitals, Enumerable said they wanted to raise 100 bags of blood which will be taken to the Philippine Lung Center.
Enumerable said those needing blood could come to them.
Currently, there are about 3,447 dengue cases in Quezon City. The number is about 1,200 more than those reported last year.
Of the 3,447 cases, 29 have died.
