MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued Wednesday a thunderstorm alert in parts of Metro Manila and some Luzon provinces amid heavy rains and floods expected within two hours.
The thunderstorm is forecast to affect Pasig, Mandaluyong and Taguig, Pampanga (Porac), Zambales (Candelaria, Masinloc and San Marcelino) and nearby areas, Pagasa said.
But Pagasa said that these were localized thunderstorms and not caused by Typhoon “Huaning”, which entered the Philippien Area of Responsibility earlier Wednesday.
The public has been advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods.
