An alleged hired killer was arrested in Quezon City for the death of a female leader of a transport group last month. The police on Tuesday announced the arrest of Genaro Tenoso, 48, alias “Boy Saksak,” who was captured July 4 on Don Pepe Street, Barangay Sto. Domingo. The suspect yielded a hand grenade and 10 sachets of “shabu” when arrested, police said. Tenoso was tagged as the gunman in the June 17 murder of Cristina Venturina, a transport leader of jeepney drivers and operators plying the Monumento-Edsa-Muñoz route. QCPD director Senior Supt. Richard Albano said Venturina was killed reportedly for her stand against so-called colorum jeepneys or those operating without a franchise in her area. Julie M. Aurelio
