USJ-R HS batch ’80 sets grand reunion
After the huge success of their 30th reunion in 2010, the University of San Jose-Recoletos High School batch 1980 organizing committee headed by its President Danilla Velasquez will once again gather on July 13.
All batch members are invited to join the two-day activities from July 13 to 14.
The celebration will kick off with a Thanksgiving Mass at the St. Augustine Chapel, USJR Main Campus at 10 a.m. on July 13. The grand gala dinner and dance will follow on the same day. Registration starts at 5 p.m. and the event proper is at 6 p.m.
The gala event will be held at the Calla Room on the third level of JCentre Mall) on AS Fortuna Street, Mandaue City.
Dubbed as “One Night In Rio”, the Brazilian mardi gras-themed gala event will be fun-filled as batch members reminisce about high school days with the festive backdrop of live great samba music and dance performances.
Perks and giveaways await the lucky Festival King and Queen of the night to be chosen by an honorary panel of judges composed of the batch’s high school teachers.

Article continues after this advertisementUpon registration, attendees will be provided with Mardi Gras accessories (masks, colourful hats and headdresses) to match and spice up their look.
Registration fee is P600, inclusive of dinner.
The grand reunion will culminate with an outreach program for the Missionaries of the Poor in barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City on the 14th from 10 a.m. until noon. Assembly will be at the USJR Main Campus at 9:30 a.m.
