Anti-gambling drive results dismal — Garbo

Only five out of the 44 municipalities and six cities have been cleared by authorities of illegal gambling.
Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, director of Police Regional Office – 7 (PRO-7) said this indicates that their  anti-illegal campaign is far from over.
Supt. Paul Labra II, chief of Regional Intelligence Division (RID) identified the five towns harboring illegal gambling activities as Boljoon, Alcoy, San Franciso, Pilar, and Tudela.
When asked why  not a single town in Negros Oriental has been declared as illegal gambling-free, Garbo said this was because some policemen never performed their job.
And this is the reason, Garbo said he ordered Senior Supt. Noli Romana, provincial director of Negros Oriental relieved and to report to the Regional Personnel Holding Accountability Unit here in Cebu.
Romana is the choice of Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama to replace acting city police chief Senior Supt. Mariano Natu-el Jr.
Bohol and Siquijor like Negros Oriental also did not fare well in the campaign.
