When her daughter Haidee was afflicted with chronic kidney disease years ago, Cirila Walo did not hesitate to donate one of her kidneys.
The 13-year-old girl who is now a Grade 5 student was forced to skip school for two years after she was diagnosed with the ailment.
Following the kidney transplant, Haidee’s life has improved. Like a normal teenager, she has gone back to school.
However, to make sure that her kidneys function normally, Haidee needs to take for the rest of her life maintenance medicines such as Sacrolimus, Ketoconazole and several other vitamins.
For this, she needs at least P12,000 monthly, an amount beyond the family’s means since her father, the only breadwinner, is just a taxi driver.
Those who want to help can contact Cirila Walo at 0930-6437698 or deposit their donations in her BPI bank account (account number 3329150789).
