DUMAGUETE City’s Mereeis Ramirez and Kenyan Isaac Simat took the 21-kilometer crowns of yesterday’s Run With Venus at The Terraces of the Ayala Center Cebu.
Ramirez clocked one hour, 37 minutes and 42 to outrun Joeyry Lee and Sandra Soliano, who claimed the second and third places, respectively.
Lee and Soliano finished with a time of 1:39.07 while Soliano clocked 1:42:46.
Simat emerged first placer in the men’s 21k race, ending a string of losses for the Kenyans in the past weeks.
Simat clocked 1:13.23 to edge Zamboanga’s Moh Sherwin Managuil, who finished at second place with a time of 1:18.20. Michael Largo rounded off the top three just a second behind Managuil.
Emeralde Hermosilla breasted the finish line first in the 21k alumni division with a time of 2:02.19 followed by Geraldine Manglapus (2:19.19) and Shalimar Jane Canales (2:22.17).
Abraham Missous, meanwhile, ruled the 12k men’s division with a time of 40:45.
Lee’s younger brother, Prince Joey, settled for second place while Riez Enriquez was third placer. Lee and Enriquez battled neck-to-neck in the finish line with Lee finishing just a split-second ahead.
ANDRINS WIN ANEW
The Andrin siblings made waves anew after Lovely Fe timed at 54:07 to outrun Keisha Mae Delechos and Mary Jane Beboso to win the women’s 12k crown. Delechos claimed second place while Beboso placed third.
Amale Jopson topped the 12k alumni category with a time of 59:56.
Cherry Andrin dominated the 6k women’s side by outrunning the multi-titled Cristy Tutor with the time of 24:01. Tutor finished in 25:18. Lenlei Cardenas took the third spot with a time of 26:01.
John Darryl Manos won the men’s 6k race with a time of 20 minutes while Davao City’s Jobert Carolino placed second with a time of 20:13. Bonifacio Monjas landed at third place with a time of 20:30.
