Chess arbiters seminar this wednesday

THE CHESS Arbiters Union of the Philippines (CAUP)  will hold a seminar on July 10 to 12 at the University of San Carlos-Basic Education Department North Campus along Gen. Maxilom Avenue in Cebu City.

The seminar will be for coaches, teachers and professionals who want to become a chess arbiter or a technical official for chess tournaments.

International chess arbiter Gene Poliarco will spearhead the event.

This will serve as the second arbitration seminar of CAUP here in Cebu, according to FIDE arbiter Felix Poloyapoy Jr., who is also the head coach of the USC-BED chess team.

FEATURED STORIES

CAUP is a group of Filipino International, FIDE, National, Regional and Club Arbiters and is recognized and accredited by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines to officiate in chess tournaments and conduct arbitration seminars nationwide.

Registration fee for the seminar is pegged at P2,000 inclusive of handouts, certificates, snacks and seminar ID.  Only 40 slots are available.
