2 hurt in Quezon City fire

MANILA, Philippines – Two were wounded when fire gutted a house in Quezon City early Monday, a city fire officer said.

Sergeant Rosendo Cabillan of Bureau of Fire Protection-QC, identified the victims as Christian and Leonard Santos, 20 and 25 years old, respectively, residents of the affected house at no. 39 Constitutional Street, SSS village, North Fairview, Quezon City.

The cousins sustained abrasion and laceration wounds.

Cabillan said the fire at the two-storey house started at 6:08 a.m. and reached third alarm before it was put out at 6:46 a.m.

“The victims may have left the rice they were cooking, which eventually caused the fire,” Cabillan said, noting that the cost of damages was set at P1 million.
