77 POLICE OFFICIALS MOVED

THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) implemented a major revamp as part of the human resource development program.

The revamp affected 77 police officials: 61 with a rank of senior inspectors and 16 with a rank of chief inspectors, said Chief Supt. Marcelo Garbo, director of PRO-7.

Garbo told reporters yesterday that the 77 police officials were transferred to new assigments after they exceeded the three-year tour of duty.

Garbo said the revamp was supposed to take effect a few months ago but was put on hold due to the elections.

With the revamp, Chief Supt. Samuel Yordan, deputy chief of PRO-7, was transferred to Camp Crame.

MAN ACCUSED OF MOLESTING GIRL

A 73-YEAR-OLD man was arrested by police after he allegedly molested a six-year-old girl in Lapu-Lapu City.

Apolinio Bumalik could be charged with rape or acts of lasciviousness, police said.

The suspect denied the rape accusations, saying he only kissed the girl.

Police are still waiting for the result of the girl’s medical examination to determine the charge to file against the man.

The girl’s father sought the help of the police after a neighbor reported to him that the man was caught molesting the child in the victim’s house Thursday afternoon.

4 MEN FALL IN BUY-BUST

POLICE arrested four men in a drug buy-bust operation in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City Thursday afternoon.

Robert Pangatungan, 30, was arrested following weeks of surveillance, said Senior Insp. Rogelio Pineda Jr.

Police said three other men were also arrested after they were caught buying illegal drugs from Pangatungan. They were Ritchie Quialona, 25, Lucresio Candole Jr., 24, and Josi Cabardo, 20, all residents in the barangay.

Police said Pangatungan sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P200 to a poseur- buyer.

Six small packs beleived to contain shabu and drug-sniffing paraphernalia were recovered from the man, police said.

25 WOMEN ROUNDED UP

POLICE rounded up at least 25 women in different areas in Cebu City Thursday night.

Chief Insp. Reniero Agustin, chief of the Fuente police station, said the series of apprehensions in Colon Street and Mango Avenue were due to complaints of some foreigners.

Agustin said the foreigners complained that these women would befriend them during a chance encounter in the streets but will later steal their valuables.

The apprehensions were conducted by operatives of the Fuente police, Theft and Robbery Section (TRS), City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB).

Agustin said they were not able to confirm if the apprehended women worked as commercial sex workers.

Agustin said the apprehended women will be charged with loitering, a violation of a city ordinance.
