NOEL Tanyu emerged as the top kegler for June after topping the monthly bowling tournament of the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (CETBA) last Saturday at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
Tanyu downed 1,204 pinfalls in six games including a huge 212 in the sixth game. Tanyu was trailed by Senator Chiz Escudero Independence Day Bowling Tournament singles champion Salve Tesio who totaled 1,159 pinfalls.
Rounding off the top three bowlers was Beth Ngo who scored 1,151 pinfalls. Vivian Padawan (1,150) and Brendo Arriesgado (1,130) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Japanese Emi Osada came in 6th with 1,103 pinfalls while CETBA president Gretchen Tormis placed 7th with 1,096. Osada’s husband Makoto finished 8th with 1,089 pinfalls while Joyce Speekman landed at 9th spot one pin behind Makoto Osada.
A total of 22 bowlers competed in the monthly tournament. The monthly winners including Tanyu will vie for the coveted “Bowler of the Year” plum this December. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
