Caloocan public school classes suspended due to bad weather

MANILA, Philippines—The local government of Caloocan City has ordered the suspension of public school classes in all levels in the city.

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan said the suspension was declared in anticipation of thunderstorms that may bring floods to the city.

For private schools, Malapitan said it would be up to school authorities to decide whether to suspend or not their  classes.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration  has issued a thunderstorm advisory, alerting that parts of Metro Manila, including Caloocan, will experience thunderstorms that may trigger flashfloods.
