Pangasinan bettor wins P178.8-M jackpot

MANILA, Philippines—A lone bettor in Luzon won the P178.8-million jackpot prize in Monday night’s 6/55 Grand Lotto draw, the first jackpot winner in almost three months, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office said.

PCSO general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said in a text message that the lucky person placed a bet at a lotto outlet in Pangasinan and picked the winning combination—09-21-43-35-54-12.

Ticket sales for the Grand Lotto on Monday reached P64.2 million as bettors hoping to snatch the jackpot prize lined up at lotto outlets across the country, the PCSO official said.

On the other hand, no one hit the P9-million jackpot prize of the 6/45 Mega Lotto in Monday night’s draw.

Bettors took the chance even if  they had to hurdle the odds of 1 in 28.99 million to get the numbers right.

In April this year, a 72-year-old retiree from Cainta, Rizal, became P132 million richer after hitting the Grand Lotto jackpot.

According to PCSO, the jackpot prize of the Grand Lotto will be back to P30 million in the next draw on Wednesday night.
