The eighth edition of the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) University Run will once again bring runners accross three bridges.

The race, which was launched yesterday,  will be held Aug. 25 starting at the CDU campus at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City. It is held in line with the school’s  intramurals.

The route of the 25-kilometer race will pass through the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, the old Mactan Bridge which connects Cebu and Mactan Island, and the Cansaga Bridge in Liloan town.

Aside from the 25k distance, the race will also feature 13k, 6k and 3k races.

“We already finished running the official route and it was a breathtaking run,” said organizer Dr. Yong Larrazabal III yesterday at the Run For Sight headquarters inside the CDU Hospital.

Joining him were wife Donna, co-organizer Dr. Peter Mancao, Arnold Choachuy of Sunsports and newly hired race director Joel Juarez.

Registration fee is pegged at P600 for the 25k, P500 for the 13k, P350 for the 6k and P300 for the 3k.

According to Larrazabal,  runners who will register before Aug. 1 will get P100 off in every category.

Registration can be done at the Run For Sight Office at the CDU Hospital and at the CDU Campus.  /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
