The Quezon City government is set to build more than 700 homes for informal settler families along the San Juan and Tullahan rivers, who have been targeted for relocation by the end of July.
In a statement, secretary to the mayor Tadeo Palma said the houses would be constructed in three of the city’s existing housing projects.
Under the plan, 154 units will be constructed in Bistekville I in Barangay (village) Payatas; 375 in Bistekville II in Barangay Kaligayan, Novaliches; while 209 will be at Bistekville VI in Barangay Fairview.
Each unit, Palma said, will have 21 square meters. He added that the Social Housing Finance Corp. would set the amortization for the units.—Jeannette I. Andrade
