MANILA, Philippines – Both lanes of the Agham Road in Quezon City have been reopened to motorists after they were occupied by residents, who set up barricades to prevent an impending possible demolition of their houses.
Police Office 3 Antonio Montero of QCPD Station 2 said the northbound and southbound lanes of Agham road from North Avenue to Quezon Avenue were reopened around 11:20 a.m.
A dialogue between Superintendent Pedro Sanchez, QCPD-Station 2 commander and the leader of the affected residents, he said, was also ongoing.
Traffic was earlier rerouted after rallyists, estimated to be around 300, blocked the Agham Road.
Violence then erupted, which left three policemen wounded.
