Tanod killed while bringing wife to hospital

A BARANGAY tanod was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in barangay Apo, Argao town, southern Cebu.

Richard Oyangoren, a tanod in barangay Anahaw, succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head.

Police said the tanod had been patrolling in their barangay when he was informed that his wife had to be brought to the hospital because of a nervous breakdown.

Oyangoren asked his neighbor, who owns a Multicab,  to bring his wife to the Isidro C. Kintanar Hospital.

The tanod drove the motorcycle followed by the Multicab.

Oyangoren was about to turn right  when he was shot, said PO2 Brian Yusores, responding police officer of Argao police.

Two empty shells and two slugs for a .45 caliber pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
