Things are looking brighter for ALA Boxing Promotions as its partnership with television network giant ABS-CBN was extended to 10 years.
This means that the fights of ALA Boxing Promotions will continue to be aired over ABS-CBN for the next decade.
ALA CEO and president Michael Aldeguer said this development will be a huge help for the boxing promotion outfit, which has also been recently given the license to promote boxing fights in California, USA.
“The 10-year contract would definitely change the landscape of Philippine boxing in the next 10 years,” said Aldeguer. “The vision of ALA Promotions is now a reality with the partnership we have with the ABS-CBN. With their global reach through The Filipino Channel, there is no reason why ALA Promotions won’t be a big player in the boxing world.”
Present during last Friday’s signing of contract was Aldeguer’s father, Antonio L. Aldeguer, the founder of ALA Boxing Gym and chairman of the Aldeguer Group of Companies, and ABS-CBN executives headed by chairman Gabby Lopez and vice president for sports Peter Musngi.
“We have a lot of plans that we believe can shake up the boxing world. We are excited to launch the boxing series “Idol” this year,” said Aldeguer.
Meanwhile, Aldeguer and ALA Promotions vice president Dennis Cañete are in Dubai to finalize their plans of penetrating the international market in the Middle East, aside from their bid in the United States next year.
This move gives a huge boost for boxers who will be featured in the fight cards since they are now catering foreign boxing fans and Filipinos around the world. ALA Promotions is also planning to include foreign fighters in their fight cards. /WITH REPORTS FROM ABS-CBNnews.com
